Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria which was founded as historians say around 7000 years ago. This wonderful city is located at the foot of the green mountains Vitosha and Lyulin. And during the history Sofia had different names and peoples which occupied it. It is one of the symbols of Sofia and primary tourist attractions. It is considered as one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world. The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia can take 5,000 people inside, has 45 m high gold-plated dome, with the bell tower reaching 50.52 m. The total weight of temple’s 12 bells is around 23 tons. The interior is decorated with many luxurious materials such as Italian marble in various colours, Brazilian onyx and other.
This Roman rotunda dates back to the 4th century and is located in the courtyard of the Sheraton Sofia Hotel. It is considered the oldest building in Sofia and famous for its Medieval frescoes of 12-14th centuries.
The Ivan Vazov National Theatre is one of the important landmarks of Sofia. Also it plays the role of being Bulgaria's national theatre and the most authoritative theatre in the country. It is located in the centre of the city, with the facade facing the City Garden.
